I am very excited to teach 2nd Grade this year at Good Shepherd Catholic Academy. By way of introduction, I worked for many years in early childhood education as a Pre-K, Kindergarten and 2nd Grade teacher in both public and private schools; including PS 222, St. Agnes Seminary and other private UPK schools. I am a mother of three adult children, a grandmother of a 2-year old and excited to welcome two more grand babies in 2023. I live in Breezy Point with my husband Joe who recently retired as a lieutenant from the FDNY after 38 years of service. I have a hobby of singing with the Greater Nassau Chorus and like to bring music into the classroom whenever possible to enrich lessons. I believe students need to be provided with a caring environment that encourages learning. I know that students do not all learn in the same way or at the same rate. I look to incorporate students’ interests, abilities, and prior knowledge into lessons. I believe learning experiences need to challenge as well as allow every student an opportunity to think and grow. As a 2nd Grade teacher at Good Shepherd, I’m feeling blessed to be able to prepare my class of students for the very important Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion.
