Parents and Guardians

Mission

The mission of the Home Academy Association is to support and enrich the educational endeavors of the academy. In a faith-based environment dedicated to the education of our students, the HAA must mirror the traditions, standards, and teachings of the Catholic faith. Through fund raising, teacher recognition, support, and school improvements, the organization works to promote a connection from home to academy. It is the objective and duty of the HAA to keep in mind the welfare of students with regards to all issues. This includes:

  • Provide a vehicle of communication between parents and the academy through a network of homeroom parents.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising activities such as Radio Bingo, Night at the Races and the annual Card Party.
  • Organize social opportunities for students such as a monthly Pizza Day as well as broader community activities such as events for parents to connect and family pasta dinners.

Structure

All parents and guardians of Students of Good Shepherd Catholic Academy are members of the HAA and are encouraged to actively participate in the activities of the HAA. The HAA structure will include the following officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Those interested to serve as one of the above officers will submit their names in writing, in June, to the academy principal, who will organize an election to be held by the end of the school year.
