Good afternoon. I hope everyone has had a good week. As we approach Thanksgiving, it seems the weather has turned. In addition, we have begun already to prepare for the return of our Christmas show! (see below for details). I hope these weekly emails continue to provide you with important information and are of value to you. 

Pizza Day 

Thanks to all who helped make yesterday’s pizza day a success! It is always an enjoyable day for the students. 

Thanksgiving Food Drive 

Another thank you to all those who have contributed to the Thanksgiving Food Drive. We will be able to provide a large number of items to the food pantries at Our Lady Help of Chirstians and St. Rose of Lima. 

Toys for Tots

Our work of service to those in need now turns to Christmas and a Toys for Tots drive. We have a box set up in our vestibule thanks to Mr. Gambale. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need at Christmas time. 

Gift Card Sale

Our annual gift card sale has begun. Earlier this week, students came home with a flier with more details and a QR code to link to the site for the sale. This is a great way to purchase gifts for others for Christmas and help raise money for our academy. The flier is also attached for your convenience.

As the holiday shopping season gets going, a reminder that you can help raise money for our school by shopping at https://smile.amazon.com/ and selecting Good Shepherd Catholic Academy as the beneficiary. 

Cold Weather Reminders

With the change to colder weather, all are reminded that only the Good Shepherd fleece is permitted on top of the regular uniform. Students should also be coming with adequate coats/jackets. Recess will continue to be outside daily unless it is very cold, raining, or snowing. 

While we hope we can avoid school closure due to snow, a reminder that if the school building is closed due to snow, there will be remote classes for a portion of that day. This will be different for each grade level/band. More details will be provided if/when we encounter a snow closure. 

Christmas Show

We are excited to announce the return of our in-person Christmas show! The show for grades 1-8 will be on Thursday evening, December 15th, beginning at 6pm in the church. Families will be able to purchase up to 4 tickets. Tickets will be $5 each. JPK, Pre-K, and K will have their show on Wednesday, 12/21 at 1:30 pm in the church. Tickets for this show will be unlimited and are $5/each. Ticket order form will be sent home after Thanksgiving.
